Relapse Prevention
Relapse prevention is currently delivered on a 1-1 basis with a client
and is tailored to an individuals needs. This can incorporate
pharmaceutical interventions such as naltrexone (blockers) and regular
urine screening through to cognitive restructuring work and
counselling.
The heart of relapse prevention is maintenance and change. By offering
the client a range of alternative therapeutic and practical approaches
to life and how to deal with it a client may experience new
educational, employment, understanding and learning opportunities.
Meeting regularly with a client allows the exploration of ongoing
problems, which a client may experience once a substance has been put
down.
The project has a vast array of workshops available focusing on issues
from anger management to peer pressure. The project endeavours to
offer a range of diversionary activities from the gym to film work in
order to promote positive life changes.
