Assessment for Rehab
The project is able to complete and submit all relevant documentation
to support a client’s application to rehab. This process involves a
series of forms being completed called a Community care assessment.
The project also caries a comprehensive list of various rehabs
throughout the UK which can be selected to meet a clients specific
needs. Rehabs tend to follow four models, which are Concept,
Christian, 12 step and Therapeutic.
Most rehabs do not offer a detox facility and are completely
abstinence based from all substances including Alcohol. The client on
presentation will usually get chance to view a couple of rehabs before
making a decision, this can be done while the paperwork is being
processed for funding.
When funding has been agreed the client will be able to commence their
placement when a bed becomes free, subject to drug status. The client
will usually be expected to make a contribution to the placement out
of their income/ benefits.
Rehab placements tend last approx 12 weeks with some rehabs offering a
second stage or low level supported accommodation following that
period. Throughout the clients stay the project will allocate a care
manger for the client to overview progress.
Rehab is not for everyone, but for those who really want to change and
cannot succeed in the community it offers an opportunity to work on
themselves post detox in a safe environment.
Doncaster will soon have its own Rehab/ Day service called New
Beginnings which will encompasses detox, day service and residential
unit.
