The Garden Rooms

The Garden Rooms first attended the S.C.I. project in November 2000, having been made aware of the projects existence through Sheffield Information Services. Work commenced from this time until the eventual hosting of our website (www.gardenrooms.org.uk) in March 2001.

From our initial meeting, at which we were invited to survey a number of websites with regard to identification of style and content for use in the design of our own website, through the design process which was carried out on a regular, ongoing basis to the eventual hosting of the site we found the S.C.I. project to be an excellent project, conducted in an informal setting, which provided numerous benefits to our organistion. These benefits included:

• The opportunity to develop a website for our own not-for-profit arts and community studios at no cost - the Garden Rooms would be highly unlikely to have this resource without the S.C.I. project
   
• The opportunity to publish information with regard to our organisation on the world wide web - generating partnerships and links with organisations, both local, regional and national.
   
• The benefits to practicing artists within our organisation in promoting their own development leading to increased opportunities
   
• An increase in interest in our own organisation - comments received to this time include work which is in development with the Urban and Countryside Ranger service ( Sam Hollingworth, Parsons Cross ) who said " Your website looks great "
